Digital Imaging

Dental radiographs (x-rays) are invaluable aids in diagnosing, treating, and maintaining dental health.  Radiographs allow us to detect cavities in between your teeth, analyze the health of your bone, and screen for any oral pathology. At Lee Family Dentistry, we use digital imaging, which decreases exposure time by about 50 percent when compared to traditional radiographs, and results in 1/6th of the radiation exposure. Digital imaging allows us to view radiographs on a computer monitor, so we can easily share our findings with you.  Digital imaging also enables us to transfer your radiographs quickly and easily to specialists or insurance companies.

Intraoral Cameras

Intraoral cameras are very small cameras developed specifically for taking pictures of teeth, gums, and other parts of the mouth.  These cameras allow the doctors and hygienists at Lee Family Dentistry to capture clear, precise images inside the mouth, which are then projected onto a computer screen.  From here, these well-defined, enlarged images can be used to diagnose oral pathology, share findings with patients, and aid in developing a comprehensive treatment plan.  We save these images, which become a permanent part of each patient’s chart, and, if necessary, can easily be sent to the patient, insurance companies, dental labratories, or specialists. 

Laser Dentistry

Laser dentistry is one of the latest advancements in periodontal (gum) therapy, and is both safe and effective. Dental lasers allow the doctors at Lee Family Dentistry to reach below the gum line when working on deep decay. We also use lasers to contour and reshape the gums for esthetic purposes. This often eliminates the need for invasive surgical procedures and suturing.  Healing of the gums afterward is much faster, and post-operative sensitivity is reduced.
